Design Boards - The Power and Need for theM!

You can see design boards every where. Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Google… you name it. I think we almost take them for granted because they are pretty and look fun. In fact, they are quiet necessary for every design project and I’m convinced that it’s an essential part of the creative process to get a design right. Building or remodeling your home is a significant and expensive undertaking that should be strategically planned and creatively curated. Hiring a designer to assist you with such an endeavor is a crucial part to the success of the process. We bring (or we should) a process, organization and streamline the visual choices to ensure they come together.

One of the many important roles of a designer is to create a visual for each client…cue the Design Board! A design board tells a story – they are a visual representation of your ideas and the starting point of the creative process for your new home or remodel. Design boards organize the process and ultimately save you time and money by directing you to one place for your inspiration photos and sources. No more spending hours scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest searching for inspiration!

When building or remodeling your home, visuals are key to the success of the final product. Choosing a designer with the creative skill to accurately reflect your desires in a visual story is crucial. Having a design board will give you clear visual direction that will make decision making much easier.

Design boards are extremely useful to clients but they are not just for clients. Design boards also help to hold your trades and builders accountable during a new build or remodel. As previously stated, the design board is a visual representation of your ideas and when everyone has the same vision, the job will proceed in uniformity which will result in a much smoother operation.
