2021 Favorite Paints

You may find this surprising, but my major in college was Geology.  I loved the study of the earth; plate tectonics to be specific.  The study of the earths’ crust and how it shapes the earth, creates volcanoes, mountains and deep valleys fascinated me.  I have loved nature, the beauty of it and its natural palette so as you can image this year’s emphasis on earth tones with paint speaks to my soul.  I am known for my affinity for the color black but in my home you’ll also find creams, browns, camel, and mustard tones. These earthy colors paired together and accessorized with greenery create a look I love.

In my 2021 Favorite Paints, you will see many dark hues of blues and greens, warm whites and brown undertones in the gray family. I think with all the stress of 2020 there is a yearning to get back to nature and maybe that’s why we’re desiring so much inside our home.

Just this last weekend I collaborated with Fixable Painting to paint an accent wall that calls to my terracotta pot loving heart. Check out my Instagram to see an amazing video they put together. As you know I love me some brown tones and adding Oak Creek by Sherwin Williams has brought warmth and interest to my living room. I’m still waiting on couches and furniture but my personal home is slowly coming together!

What are your thoughts on my 2021 Favorite Paints? How do you feel about inviting these earthy tones into your home?
