As a team of Interior Designers, we look forward to the changing of the seasons each year, as each season brings the opportunity for new design trends to emerge! Today, we want to share ten interior design trends that we think will be HOT this summer!
TEXTURE ON TEXTURE ON TEXTURE
There is no quicker way to make a space feel more sophisticated and complete than to add texture! Whether it be with a beautiful throw pillow or blanket, artwork, or a rug, adding multiple textures to a space is a big trend this summer.
COME ON INSIDE
The home entry is receiving love in the trends this season! As your home's first impression, the entry is definitely a place where you can let your personality shine. One of our favorite ways to spice up an entry is with a vintage rug, a fun console table, and a mirror or artwork that speaks to your unique personality.
INSPIRED BY THE SUNSHINE
Natural hues are a big trend this summer! The great outdoors always seems to be a place of inspiration for our team. We love incorporating natural colors, like greens, blues, and browns, into our designs, especially with paint colors. Brown is the new gray! BRING IN THE...OLD?
There is nothing quite like the effect a good vintage furniture piece can have on a space. With supply chain issues being what they are in the furniture world, people now more than ever are sourcing antique pieces for their homes. We love this trend and are looking forward to including vintage pieces into our upcoming designs.
CURVED FURNITURE
Bring on the curves! This groovy trend has been big this year and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere this summer. You can add curved furniture to make a space feel more feminine and soft.
FANCY CABINETRY
We love a good cabinet front detail at Micah and Co.! Whether it be reeded, fluted, or any custom design in between, adding cabinetry details is a trend that can have a big design impact.
TASTE THE RAINBOW
This is a design trend anyone can include in their home: colorful tableware! Colorful tableware is an opportunity to have some fun! Love purple and blue? How about hot pink? There is a colorful and trendy tableware set for you this summer!
LIGHTS, LIGHTS, BABY
Have you seen the latest trend in lighting? Sculptural lighting is all the rage for this summer! Whether it be an abstract sconce or twisted hanging chandelier, sculptural lighting is a trend we are looking forward to seeing more of this year.
WRAP IT UP
Wallpaper continues to be a huge trend this year! Tropical, textural, and nature-inspired wallpaper seems to be the rage and we are here for it!
LET IT GROW
Real, faux, and dried plant and floral arrangements are on the rise! We love this trend, as it is an affordable and dramatic way to bring life to your home. We hope this trend stays popular in the seasons to come!
