Micah & Co Design Contract

Billable Design Time includes face-to-face appointments, phone consultations, e-mails, and text message time. In addition, independent work time, including finish selections, furniture layouts, drafting of plans & elevations, etc. are also billable. If there are multiple locations that require travel during a design consultation (such as furniture stores, project address, tile stores etc.) this time will also be considered billable. Please note that the travel time between locations is included as well. The initial on-site consultation rate is $495, then all design time is billed at our hourly rate of $180 an hour in 15-minute increments.  The initial consultation applies to any “new” project, even with an existing client and/or location. For an onsite one- time consultation (up to 3 hours) the design fee is $1500.

Scheduled Design Appointments

Design appointments are scheduled in advance to meet the needs of both designer and client. If a client is late for a scheduled design appointment, they are responsible for payment of the full scheduled appointment time. It is imperative that notification be given at least one day prior for any appointment cancellations. If the client does not give adequate notice of appointment cancellation and/or does not show up for the scheduled appointment time the client will be billed for the time scheduled.

There are 5 in person meetings that require 2 designers: design presentations, pre-build meeting, tile selections, lighting and the cabinet/door hardware meeting are billed at $300 an hour. Those 5 meetings require so much detail and design that 2 designers are needed to make sure we don’t miss any details and we get you all the needed documentation quickly. This actually shortens your overall billable time.

Purchases for Client (Order Fulfillment Contract will be provided)

Micah & Co agrees to purchase items for clients per client’s approval.  All billable time while making purchases, following up on deliveries etc. will be charged to client.

Billing and payment

Clients will receive a QuickBooks emailed invoice bi-weekly, that’s due upon receipt. Payments received later than 15 days from the invoice date will be assessed a 10% late fee. If your invoice is past due 30 days, late fees will not be waived. Any invoices outstanding more than 30 days, Micah & Co reserves the right to seek legal action.

Liability

Micah & Co is not a contractor, nor do we provide oversight of construction. If needed, we will ask a licensed contractor to help with design needs. Micah & Co is not liable for the contractor’s work.
