Fall Interior Design Trends 2022

It’s fall y’all! Micah Abbananto here and yes, for some silly reason I love saying that. Maybe it’s the Texan in me, although it’s a very Oklahoma thing to say too! I have to confess it’s my favorite time of the year because of the weather, the colors and the smells. My personal design style is very fall friendly with a very neutral and earthy pallet. I still love to assess the industry at every season to see what’s new, what’s on trend and what my clients can expect. I hope it’s unexpected and fun for you to see the fall trends for this year!

Textured Walls

Venetian plaster walls make the perfect soft textured background to the upcoming holiday décor by adding a cozy layer of depth to your interior. For a bolder statement try doing it in darker jewel tones! Paneling and wallpaper are also trending to bring visual interest and texture to a space! Do you think glazing will come back? We will see….

Statement Vent- Hoods

Adding drama and custom character to the kitchen can easily be done by creating a statement vent hood. Details like creating an alcove on either side of your stove so your vent hood goes all the way down to your countertop. We love this idea because it lets you add storage in the side and create a perfect frame for a statement backsplash.  We are seeing marble, metal, mirror, stucco and totally unique vent hoods completely on trend! So don’t be afraid to try a new way of thinking about your vent hood!

Grandma Chic & Eclectic Design

Embracing your world traveling grandparents, we are loving this trend that feels layered and collected over time. This style is really defined by a use of color, eclectic or antique pieces, mixed with unexpected layouts. What do you think of this style?  The team would love to design it but not necessarily live it in! Eclectic design is a favorite because it’s typically a blend of styles completely unique to the client!

Color

Color or the lack thereof still stands as the trend for this fall. Neutral colors with an emphasis on browns is still increasing this season. For all my color loving clients, we are seeing the pairing blue and green and pink and orange as the standout color combinations.

Natural Stones

Who would have thought travertine would come back?!? It has and it’s back with a vengeance. All natural stones and elements are being used in every facet of design. Creating natural moments and a shift away from marble has been embraced, which brings more “natural” options for our clients. Adding concrete and natural stone accents still seems to be a huge trend this fall.

Here at Micah & Co it’s our desire to keep you on trend while keeping your design style in mind. It’s fun to be in the know of what’s happening in design but it’s even more important for you to get a tailored design with your specific style in mind. We hope you have an amazing fall season and let us know how we can help you!
